Sina Murphy, a Swiss/Argentinian/Asian hotel management graduate and former international asset manager, pursued her passions for architecture, design and travel by co-founding the first online booking platform in the world to specialize solely in remote and stylish properties.
Flavia Kämpf Spahr, a Swiss/British interior designer/creative director, unit their skills and passion to create the first online booking platform in the world to specialize in remote and stylish properties. From July 2020 Sina becomes the sole owner and CEO of OFF GRID HIDEAWAYS. Flavia resumes her creative consulting and interior design practice. www.flaviakaempfspahr.com
How we work
On our own travels, we look for special places to stay, where the natural surroundings are beautiful and cared for, and where spending time means supporting local businesses and communities. We only work with an exclusive portfolio of handpicked properties, developing a personal relationship with owners and clients to ensure a good match for everyone.

FAQs
Why does it take time to check availability?
We’re a small team, and we arrange every booking personally with the owners of our portfolio of properties – and you’re more likely to find them hiking up a mountain, surfing a reef break or kayaking across a lake than sitting at a desk. Good things come to those who wait: we’ll take care of the admin and make sure your precious time isn’t wasted.
Why don’t you use booking calendars?
Just like you, our property owners love life off grid – and without live connectivity, an online booking calendar just isn’t practical. To avoid accidentally double-booking our wonderful hideaways, we make direct contact with our network of owners to arrange your stay personally.
Why do you need a deposit?
Many of our properties are exclusive to Off Grid Hideaways and, naturally, they can be booked up well in advance. To secure your booking, the properties we work with require a deposit.
What if I need to cancel?
We are bound by the cancellation policies set by each individual property, which can vary depending on how much notice you are able to give. We are happy to communicate these on request before your final booking. Deposits are unfortunately non-refundable.
Is the grass greener on the other side?
Yes. Most definitely!

Is my trip insured?
No, you should take out your own insurance policy – and if you’re planning adventures involving horses, bikes, skis or boats, it’s worth checking which activities are covered by your policy.
Are transfers included?
No: our properties are for independent travellers for whom the journey is part of the experience – but we’ll give you good directions, tips and help with planning your trip.
Which is your favourite property?
