Our Photographer Series is designed to celebrate the creative observers behind the lenses, who master how to capture and portray the soul of our hideaways.

Greek born Yiorgos Kordakis lives in Athens and New York City and has been working as a professional photographer since 1997. He is renowned for his large format Polaroid photography method and the subsequent technical treatment in which the original photos are scanned, enlarged and printed on Fine Art paper. His popular Global Summer series with images of blurred people and abstract patterns has fascinated viewers across the entire globe.

Kordakis’ sensitive approach to architectural photography is accompanied by a poetical character, which makes the images of our Syros I Hideaway and Syros II Hideaway so beautiful and perfectly captures the laid-back spirit of both properties.

Tell us about your path into photography. When did you begin and what inspired you to make it your career.

I always loved the medium since I was a teenager really but it never crossed my mind to actually follow that path in life. It was a combination of events that led to where I am now.

Describe the style of your photography in one word.

Observer

Who do you prefer to shoot, people, objects or nature.

I guess I have to answer women and architecture, ideally at the same time.
